Workshops 2026

Basic Ceramics Workshop

The Basic Workshop is an all-time classic, the most comfortable and enjoyable! We sit around the table, savor the moment, and experiment with a wonderful natural material: clay. We show you how to create an object using the "coil" technique and how to join clay slabs together, but you are always free to create whatever you want! Let yourself go, play, and see where your imagination leads you. You can make either one object using all the clay or several small ones (e.g., beads, coasters, magnets). You can also use one of our ready-made templates to copy a specific object.

Included: red clay, sculpting tools, rolling pins, decorative stamps, templates, aprons, and firing cost (980°C).

Duration: 120'
Price: €40
Artwork pickup: 3–10 days

Ocean-blue Ceramics

This is our favorite class! The results are always stunning! Even a quick piece made by a small child turns out perfect thanks to the beautiful glaze. We roll out a slab of clay with a rolling pin and decorate it as we like, using reliefs from stamps and laces, or engravings. Using our stylus or other tools (cookie cutters), we cut the shapes we want and smooth the edges with a damp sponge so they won't be sharp after firing. In the end, we paint with oxides. The thickness of the paint and the amount of glass we apply at the end determine the final shades. Once finished, we let the pieces dry and they are ready for the kiln.

Note: These ceramics are not food-safe. You can use them for dry nuts or fruits, but not for liquids.

Included: white clay with chamotte, rolling pin, lace, stamps, plastic molds, oxides, brushes, glaze, and firing cost (1030°C).

Duration: 120'
Price: €55
Artwork pickup: 3–10 days

Raku Ceramics

Raku is not just a class; it’s an unforgettable experience! The workshop is completed in 2 sessions. In the first session, we create 4-5 objects using special clay and prepare them accordingly. Our pieces dry and are fired once after 2 days. In the second session, we glaze the objects and fire them in an outdoor kiln. After firing, we place the hot ceramics in woodchips, where a flame is created, and we close the lid to cause reduction, which gives the characteristic surface qualities to the ceramics along with the distinctive crackling. Next, we immerse the ceramics in water to stop the burning and clean them from the charcoal. Our unique creations are then ready for photography and immediate pickup!

The seminar consists of two connected sessions. If you wish, you may attend only the second session, selecting ready-made objects to complete with colors and glazes. It is not possible to attend only the first session, as the Raku firing takes place exclusively in the second session. The workshop is conducted in collaboration with Elli Tsakalou and Bill Smith.

All necessary materials are included.

Duration: 7 hours
Price: €110
Minimum number of participants: 4 people

Wheel Throwing Pottery

This is one of the most fun classes! Everyone who uses the wheel, regardless of experience, gets excited! We knead the clay and prepare the balls for the wheel—one for each object. We sit at the wheel and create small or medium-sized items (cups, bowls, pots). We help you with the initial centering, making the process easier even for beginners. When there are two or more students, they take turns using the wheel, while the others fix imperfections or create something by hand. We always sign our pieces at the end!

Included: red clay, pottery wheel, tools and decorative stamps, aprons, and firing cost (980°C).

Duration: 120'
Price: €55
Maximum number of participants: 5 people
Artwork pickup: 3–10 days

Paint your own pottery

Ready-made ceramics: You can choose one of the ready-made (white) ceramics from our studio and paint it as you like using ceramic colors, stains (similar to watercolor). First, choose the object you like, dust it, and clean it if necessary. Next, we will show you the basic rules for a beautiful and proper result. With a pencil, you can make a light sketch to help you with the coloring. Then, start with light brushstrokes or use other tools, such as sponges and stencils. Available items include mugs, bowls, plates, vases, and planters. Ceramic prices range from €5 to €20 (in addition to the workshop cost).

Your own ceramics: You can decorate ceramics you have made in previous classes. If the pieces are dry (fresh and not yet fired), you can use liquid clays (engobes) to carve designs or messages. If they have been fired once, you can use glazes or firing pigments. Depending on your availability and time, we will choose the ideal method together. Of course, the ceramics must be fired again after decoration to be ready for pickup. All our creations are food and drink safe, and can be washed in a dishwasher or used in a microwave.

Included: ceramic colors (engobes, glazes, or stains), clear glaze, brushes, sponges for stencils, and firing cost (1020°C).

Duration: 120'
Price: 20€ or 5€ / piece
Artwork pickup: 1–4 days

Watercolors in Nature

Experience a creative experience in Agios Polykarpos, at the family farm Arteis. We invite you to enjoy an afternoon in a unique Ikarian garden, full of beauty and the ambiance of the Slow Food philosophy.

There, among trees, herbs, stone-paved walls, and the enchanting sunset, we will choose whatever inspires and captivates us to capture beautiful summer moments through the art of watercolor.

The class is open to all levels, from beginners to advanced. With our guidance, for those who need it, we will observe nature and the unique shades offered by the sunlight. Our goal is not to create perfect works but to let go and enjoy a moment of connection with nature through art.

You don’t need to bring anything! Everything you need will be provided: colors, papers, pencils, erasers, palettes, and a little something for refreshment.
